Terms and Conditions

ColorMuch (colormuch.com) is a service of Digital Fiction Publishing, Canada. These terms are a plain statement of how the site works and what each of us can expect. If a sentence here sounds like a promise, it is one.

1. Accounts

• You must be 13 or older to hold an account. ColorMuch does not knowingly hold accounts for children under 13.
• Sign-in is through Google. ColorMuch never sees or stores a password.
• You choose one name, your handle, when you join. Handles are permanent. They cannot be changed later. The only way to a different handle is to close your account and start again.
• Your handle is the only name the site shows. Your Google name and email are never displayed.
• We may close an account that breaks these terms or the Community Standards.

2. Credits

• Credits have no cash value. Ever. They cannot be refunded, cashed out, transferred for money, or redeemed for anything but use on ColorMuch. The one exception is a mistake on our side, which we correct case by case.
• Every account is topped up to 20 free credits once a month. Unlocking someone else's page costs 1 credit. Creating a page costs 4. A page that is refused before it is drawn costs nothing.
• Prices and allowances may change. Changes apply from the day they are posted here, never backwards.
• When credits are sold, a purchase is a licence to use features of the site, not a deposit and not property.

3. Pages you create

• Generation is a service. The pages it produces belong to ColorMuch. In return you receive a permanent right to color, print, download and share each page you create, and it sits in your library.
• Machine-generated art may not be eligible for copyright protection in your country. We make no claim about that either way, and neither should you.
• Every page starts as a private draft. Nothing you make is public until you publish it.
• Publishing is deliberate and one-way. A published page is available to every member, can be unlocked and colored by anyone, earns you credits when unlocked, and cannot be made private or deleted again.
• You can disavow a published page. It leaves your galleries, its attribution becomes anonymous, and its future earnings go to the house. It stays available to everyone.
• Moderation takedown is the only way a published page is removed.

4. Colorings

• Showing off a coloring is publishing it. It appears under your handle with the page's creator credited too.
• Published colorings persist. They may be hidden by moderation, and removed only by moderation.
• Unlocking a page pays the page's creator. Colorings earn nothing and never change who is paid.

5. Licence to Downtime

By publishing a page you grant Digital Fiction Publishing and its Downtime Coloring Books imprint a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free licence to reproduce that page in printed and digital coloring books, with attribution to your handle. This is stated here plainly so it is never assumed. It applies to published pages only, never to private drafts.

6. What you may do with pages

• Color them here, print them, download them, and share your prints and colorings for personal, non-commercial use.
• You may not scrape the site in bulk, resell masters, or present ColorMuch pages as your own product.

7. Conduct and enforcement

• The Community Standards are part of these terms.
• Anyone can report a page or coloring. A human reviews reports. Items may be hidden while under review.
• An account closed for abuse forfeits its credit balance and its future earnings to the house. Enforcement is quiet: no public notices, no appeal theatre. You can always write to us.

8. Closing your account

• Your personal details are cleared. Your handle is retired, not reassigned.
• Published pages and colorings stay, attributed to "a former member". Earnings from your pages go to the house.
• Your remaining credits are forfeited. They had no cash value, so nothing is owed.
• Ledger records are anonymised, not deleted, so the credit economy stays honest.

9. Works in progress

A coloring you have started is saved for you. One untouched for a year may be moved to slower storage or removed after notice. Published colorings never expire.

10. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on ColorMuch infringes your copyright, write to copyright@colormuch.com with the page or coloring address, what you own, and how to reach you. We remove infringing material on notice.

11. The rest

• The service is provided as it is. We keep it running with care but promise no particular uptime or outcome.
• Our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim, if anything.
• These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province where Digital Fiction Publishing is based.
• We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are announced on the site.
